I haven’t updated in a week! The Hubs took a few days off, so my time was spent mostly with him. I did manage to finish something I agreed to do almost a month ago for my 17 year old niece.
She had been asking me to refurbish a chair for her vanity since she saw this one I made for my 13 year old niece.
I told her I would, and have since kept an eye out for a good quality chair, free or cheap. While out at yard sales last weekend, a lady had a phone end table for only $1. $1! I couldn’t believe it! Sure, it’s outdated, but it was sturdy… $1? Who do I pay, ma’am?
Immediately wheels started turning in my head. I knew I could find a use for a table at this price, and that I did.
I removed the top part of the table, I have plans for this piece. Then, I sat on it, squirmed around and threw myself down on it. It handled my abuse like I weighed nothing. Great!
So, I sewed up a "pillow” type cushion, and attached it with fabric stapled to the underside of the table, and painted the legs white.
It’s a little lumpy right now, but with use it will flatten out.
I sure hope she loves it!
Happy fall, yall!
I'm linking up!

ReplyDeletewhat a great idea! those two tiered tables aren't as useful as they once were and stools are always useful! :)

ReplyDeleteI have an end table just like this! I've been looking for a table I could transform into a bench seat. I've had it sitting in my house this whole time! Thanks for posting this, it turned out great!
ReplyDeleteMy search is over and I'll finally have my seat... once I dismantle it and upholster! Hope you stop by for a visit! :)
